A Leader in Youth Basketball

He has also impacted youth sports, particularly through his work with Tenafly Youth Basketball. As league president, he oversaw the organization's growth, serving over 500 children. His leadership has ensured that the league provides basketball skills and life lessons such as teamwork, resilience, and responsibility. Eric has always believed that sports have the power to teach valuable lessons, and he has made sure that Tenafly Youth Basketball does more than provide athletic training.

One of Eric’s proudest achievements is his role in establishing the Challenger Program within Tenafly Youth Basketball. This program was designed specifically for children with special needs, allowing them to participate in organized basketball. Through his advocacy and leadership, he has ensured that children with a wide range of abilities can enjoy the benefits of sports. His work has allowed these children to build self-confidence, improve their social skills, and experience the joy of being part of a team. He firmly believes that sports should be accessible to all children, regardless of their abilities.

Giving Back Through Philanthropy

His charitable work extends far beyond his involvement in golf and youth basketball. His philanthropic efforts encompass a variety of causes, including health, education, and community support. One cause that is especially close to his heart is his work with the Kaplen Jewish Community Center (JCC) on the Palisades. As part of his ongoing advocacy for diabetes research, he has participated in various fundraising events, including poker tournaments, to raise money for the Foundation’s efforts. Eric’s past involvement with the Windward School in White Plains, New York, has also been meaningful. The school, which serves children with learning differences, has benefited from his contributions, which have funded programs that improve the educational experience for these students.
